Renardo Sidney waited one year and nine games to begin his college basketball career.
After just one game, he’s back on the sideline.
The Mississippi State athletic department announced today that Sidney has been suspended indefinitely, which partly confirms a rumor that bounced around earlier today that Sidney has been suspended for the next five games.

The incident, according to the source, stemmed from Sidney’s behavior in practice yesterday.
It was, per the source, a combination of Sidney’s attitude and an altercation with another player.
According to Sidney’s twitter page, it seems as if a one game suspension is more likely.
The thinking has always been that taking on a recruit like Sidney -- a kid that is facing a suspension for receiving illegal benefits while in high school -- is a no risk situation. That’s not necessarily true. While there is no risk insofar as the program won’t face NCAA sanctions for any of Sidney’s violations, there is a risk that the kid could end up being a problem child in the program.
Sidney completely ignored the NCAA’s rules against receiving benefits while in high school.
Why should we immediately assume that he would be willing to adhere to the rules his collegiate coach sets forth?
