Georgia Tech talked to Tulsa’s Doug Wojcik Thursday about its coaching vacancy, but has offered the job to Dayton coach Brian Gregory, according to a report from Sports By Brooks.
He has not made a decision yet. If he passes, Wojcik would remain a candidate.
However, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Dayton AD Tim Wabler hasn’t been contacted by anyone requesting to speak to Gregory.
Both are reportedly attractive options for the cash-strapped school. Because of Paul Hewitt’s hefty payout ($7 million) and an arena revamp, Georgia Tech’s targeting a coaching staff for about $1.5 million.
Gregory’s 172-94 in eight seasons with the Flyers, with two NCAA tournament appearances.
